Larvik is famous, among others, for being an important boat building centre – for example, the polar ship “Fram” was built here. After all, even the famous boat builder Colin Archer was born in this region – more exactly, in the place called Tollerodden. Nowadays, this area is a recreational park and an area perfect from swimming. In addition, the Tollerodden area also hosts the statue of the famous researcher Thor Heyerdahl, who sailed to Peru and Tenerife, among others.
