The Vikingship Gaia, located in Sandefjord, is a new ship that is used for recreation and travelling. But if this ship is actually new, why is it an important attraction in Norway? The fact is that this ship was built in the recent years, but it looks like a very old ship – this is because it is an actual replica of the famous Gokstad ship, which was constructed by the Vikings in the 9^th century AD and which was found during the excavations at a rural farm.
