Before the building of the New Svinesund
Bridge, an old one was
being used. This bridge was essential in the connection that was made between
the land of Norway
and Sweden.
The Svinesund Bridge
was built over the Ringdal Fjord and is currently Europe’s
highest bridge, measuring 67 meters in height. The bridge was inaugurated in
1946 and it is continually being used by vehicles that travel from Norway to Sweden and the other way round.
