Sørhalden is a fortress hill in Halden. It is located in the south of this town. There are numerous small homes in this area. What Halden folks call the old sea captains’ homes stand witness to the fact that Halden used to be mainly a town of sea and fishermen. Another point of attraction in Sørhalden is Festningsgata, a picturesque little street, which is considered Norway’s most beautiful in many peoples opinion.
