The Old Svinesund is the name given to an old postal
office and customs building. The Old Svinesund was built in 1830. The building
takes its name from the Svinesund Bridge and the fact that it is located just beside
this important bridge on the borders of Norway. At some point in time, the
Old Svinesund used to be the largest post office in Norway,
taking care of all the mail that went in and out of Norway.
