Norway Attractions and Hotels
Farmannshaugen in Tønsberg represents an actual mound
that is famous for the enigma and legends that surround its origins. The mound
is supposedly dedicated to a Norwegian king that was born around the year 900
AD and who was killed by his own brother. The mound is of great importance,
mainly because of its ancientness and because it represents the old Viking
culture. The mound was excavated once, in 1917 and examined by historians and
scientists.
