Tønsberg can be considered an innovative town in many ways. Castle Rock Tunnel is the name given to an actual railway tunnel located near Tønsberg, in the Vestfold County. This train tunnel was the longest one in the 19^th century, back when the Count’s railway was inaugurated in the year 1881. The name of the tunnel comes from the famous Castle Rock ruins that are located in the same Vestfold County and which are considered a national patrimony and treasure.
