The Blockhouses are exactly what their name suggests: actual houses which were built in order to protect Fredriksvern Verft from various enemy attacks. The houses are quite small, yet they are strategically positioned in order to offer the best possible protection. There are various examples of such houses, mostly located on top of the hills or even on top of high mountains. In Stavern, there are many such blockhouses and some of them are even placed on small islands.
