The Museum Wharf
hosts two extremely appalling ships that are filled with historical data
relevant for the Norwegian past. I’m making reference to the “Southern Actor”,
a ship used for the catching of whales in the second half of the last century,
and “Gaia”, a Viking ship that is, in fact, a replica of a 9th-century
ship. Both of these ships are still functional, thus allowing their being used
not only in whale catching but also for travelling purposes.
