Olav Duun is among the best known Norwegian writers at an international level. The poet and novelist, who was once a nominee for the Nobel Prize, lived in Holmestrand, the town that commemorates him today with a museum that is located at his former residence. The first floor of the house is untouched and the second floor is dedicated to arts. The surroundings of the house are beautiful, especially the commemorative rocks that quote lyrics from Olav Duun’s poems.
