The museum extends over the
entire lake Mjoesa. The museum tries to record the
life of the local people and site. The Mjøsmuseet hosts a series of events and
happenings each year, which have a central theme surrounding the life and
history of the locals. Guided tours may be arranged and these can include
visits to the Gjoevik Gaard Cultural Centre, Rud Skole,
Church Stables, Peder Balke Centre and many more.
