The Lands Museum was first opened in 1927. Its aim was to accurately keep the records of North and South Land municipalities. At present, it is a history and cultural museum. The Lands Museum has its headquarters in Dokka, where there are around 35 buildings. These are all old houses of workers, farmers and forest workers. The oldest buildings date back from the Middle Ages.
