The
collection of industrial equipment presented in the museum from Eidsfoss is the
embodiment of what iron work meant for the community of the town. Eidsfoss Verk
is the epitome and, in the same time, the first company that was specialised in
iron work. This company was founded at the end of the seventeenth century by
Caspar Herman Hausman, and most of the objects that he and his assistants
invented and used are displayed in Eidsfoss.
