Egersund has a prestigious porcelain and ceramics
museum called the Fayancemuseum. The museum was formerly a pottery plant known
as the Egersunds Pottery. This plant was opened in 1847 and its owner was
Johann Feyer, a ceramist that did some studies in Newcastle, England.
At some point, pottery and Feyer’s plant was the most desired place to work in
Egersund. Today, the Egersund Fayancemuseum is a place that gathers all sorts
of pottery products, from mugs to figurines.
