The Varnes Fort is located in the Nortwest of Lista. From here, you will be able to see the Hidra, Andabeloy and the Flekkefjord. The place is full of history also having a nice view of the sea and the sites of Lista and Farsund. The Fort was built together with another 300 batteries, and two canons were placed in Varnes Fort. The Varnes Fort was not used in war, being only a practice area for firing guns.
