The protected area of Raet includes the fauna and the flora and covers about 4600 acres of sea and 800 acres of land. Raet Protected Landscape is protected because of the sediments, and the geomorphology of the fresh water damned up by the moraine. There are three natural reserves from west to east, such as Indre Halvosholmen, Store Torungen and the western part of Tromlingene. Tourists can not visit those reserves ashore from the 14^th of April to the 15^th of July. The main reason is the preservation of the wetlands.
