Lake Mjøsa
is the largest lake in Norway.
It has a surface area of around 365 square kilometres and has a maximum depth
of 468 meters. The lake is located 100 kilometres south of Oslo. On the shores of the lake there are
three establishments, namely Lillehammer,
Hamar and Gjoevik. The lake may be used for water sports, but there is no other
water traffic on Lake
Mjøsa. There is only one
large isle on the lake: Helgoeya, and other small islets.
