Grinegutten - the Crying Boy

Located by the Lille Lungegaardsvann, Bergen, Norway

The Crying Boy statue or Grinegutten (its Norwegian name) is a beautiful bronze sculpture created by the talented Norwegian artist Sofus Madsen (1881-1977). The Crying boy statue is only 1 meter high and it was first presented to the public in 1948. Located in the Bergen centre the statue is actually positioned in the middle of a small but charming fountain. The fountain with the Crying Boy statue is a nice place where you can go to relax and take in the scenery.
