N-5742 Flaam, Norway
Flam Railway is the steepest railway in the
world and it was constructed over 20 years ago from 1920 to 1940. More than 75%
percent of the line has a 55/1000 gradient and the spiralling tunnels are proof
of great Norwegian engineering. The astonishing rail journey starts at the
Myradal station (high in the mountains) and ends at the Flaam Station. The
Flaam railway is one of Norway’s
major attractions and taking this ride will certainly be an experience you will
not forget soon.
