Vardås Fortress or Vardås Fort, located in Nøtterøy was built by the Germans during the Second World War, as a defence fortress. Back then, in 1944 and 1945, the fortress included various cannons that were used during the attacks coming from the fjord. Nowadays, the cannons can no longer be found at Vardås Fortress, but the place where they used to be positioned can be admired by those interested in the history of the war.
