Vanse Church

Vanse Church is Norway’s pride and joy, being one of the oldest churches in the country. The story goes that it was opened in 1037. In time it has become a cross-church and some people name it a cathedral. The Vanse Church was subject to a fire in the 19th century and consequently it had to be restored. The church was rebuilt in stone and chalk plaster. There are 1100 seats in the church today.
