Stromso Church

Knoffsgate 2

Strømsø Church is the largest construction of wood in the city of Drammen. Erected in 1667, the immense wooden building was thought out to be able to shelter almost one thousand people, which was the town’s population at that time. The church also includes a crypt with burial chambers that visitors can admire. The crypts were made for Governor Daniel Knoff, who ordered the church to be constructed for his friends and family.
