Dreggen 15, Bergen,
County of Hordaland, Norway
St. Marry Church is the oldest building in Bergen constructed
sometime around the middle of the 12th century. The church has two
Romanesque towers and Gothic stalls and it is situated in the centre of the
town within walking distance from the fish market. The most important piece in
the church is the pulpit which is adorned with eight Christian virtues,
corresponding with women with diverse characteristics. Church decorations are
extremely beautiful and generally inspired from both history and religion.
