Korskirken

Korskirkealmenningen, Bergen County of Hordaland, Norway

The Church of the cross or Korskirken is more than 800 years old; its construction being associated with the moment when the Holly Church of the Cross was founded. The name has no correlation with today's cruciform plan. The church has suffered many reconstructions and restorations during the years mainly because of numerous fires that devastated the entire town. The church got its cruciform shape in the 17th century when it was extended to the size it is today.
